Sarah Goodsall

Sarah qualified from the University of Bristol in 1997 and, after a short spell in mixed practice, moved to Gloucestershire to widen her veterinary experience and further pursue her interests in small animal medicine and surgery. In 2006 Sarah was given the opportunity to return to her home county of Shropshire when she bought Oakville Veterinary Surgery from the previous owner. Sarah enjoys all aspects of small animal medicine and surgery having particular interests in both ophthalmology and soft tissue surgery. Sarah, like all staff at the practice, is a keen animal lover and has acquired a small menagerie at home! Her feathered and furry animal members include 2 dogs (Willow and Ciara), 3 cats (Bill, Ben and Hopeless), 2 horses (Jameila and Rupert), a pony (Basil), 2 sheep (Dolly and Dotty) and 5 ex-battery hens!

 

 

Zoe Kirk

Zoe joined the team at Oakville Veterinary Surgery in 2009 after working for a number of years in mixed practice in Oxfordshire where she gained valuable experience working with a wide variety of animals. Zoe qualified from Edinburgh University in 2001 and has since gained further qualifications in veterinary acupuncture and animal behaviour. Zoe has a particular interest in soft tissue surgery and is experienced in abdominal ultrasound. Zoe has 2 dogs Hugh & Daisy, 4 sheep, 7 chickens and half a horse (half ownership I mean).

 

 

Moya

Moya has been at Oakville Veterinary Surgery for nearly 11 years. As well as helping with the running of puppy parties, her duties include dealing with insurance claims, performing general reception duties and also ensuring the smooth running of the practice by dealing with paperwork and finances. Moya is a keen animal lover and has 2 dogs one of whom, Ted, is a Pets as Therapy (PAT) dog who Moya takes on visits to care homes. Moya has another dog called Elsie and 4 cats Freddie,Jack,Bertie,and Archie.

   
Valerie

Valerie is Sarah's mother and was dragged out of what she thought would be a peaceful retirement over 3 years ago to retrain as a veterinary receptionist! Valerie provides invaluable support at reception and you will often speak to her if you phone in to the practice. Valerie has Kamilla(a 3 legged Doberman), a tail-less cat (Stumpy) and 2 normal cats (Puma & Kevin)! She also has shares in Sarah's horses (ie does all the hard work)!

   
Mandy

Mandy is our Head Nurse and has been at Oakville for three and half years. Mandy is a fully qualified veterinary nurse and is registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. She is responsible for all the nurses within in the practice and works alongside the vets to ensure that the nursing side of the practice runs smoothly. Mandy also organises and runs puppy parties and weight clinics and is very interested in medical nursing. In addition to all this she is a keen horsewoman and animal lover and has 2 dogs (Freckles & Dumbo), 1 cat (Penfold), and of course her horse (Tess).

   
Laura

Laura joined the practice 4 years ago and is our senior nurse. Laura is fully qualified and registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. Laura is responsible for running dental clinics and geriatric clinics (alongside Natasha). Laura has a keen interest in medical nursing and anaesthesia. Laura has 2 pets Harry ( a Hermans tortoise) and Quack (don't ask!) the 3 legged cat!

   
Natasha

Natasha joined Oakville Veterinary Surgery in 2007 and is a fully qualified veterinary nurse and registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. Natasha runs the geriatric clinics alongside Laura and has an interest in anaesthesia and surgical nursing. Natasha has 4 pets, a Pug called Frank, a cat named Pedro, a rabbit called Sylvester and some fish.

   
Lucie

Lucie joined the Practice in 2010 and is our newest member of staff. She is currently studying her Level 3 qualification in Veterinary Nursing at Rodbaston College and is due to qualify in 2012. Lucie has always been interested in the welfare of animals and has already gained a National Diploma in Animal Management. Lucie enjoys socialising with her friends and entertaining her border collie called Cody.
