Our ethos at Oakville is underpinned by our genuine love of animals and commitment to providing the best possible veterinary care to all animals entrusted to us. We understand the importance of providing the support and advice that all owners will need over the lifetime of their pet – whether to help keep them as healthy as possible or when they are unwell and you just need support and someone to explain what is going on.
We are a genuinely caring, family run practice! This means that our vets can make their decisions on how they treat your pet (and what with) based upon what they feel is best for your animal clinically – obviously in consultation with yourself. We have invested in our premises and equipment so that we have modern facilities for your animals, including a separate cat and dog ward, with the aim of making the experience for animals in our care as stress free and calm as they can be in a potentially stressful situation.
Our up to date equipment, which includes ultrasound, digital x-ray, therapeutic laser, ECG, tonopen (for measuring pressures in the eye), modern dental equipment, dedicated operating theatre for “clean ops” and a full in-house laboratory (allowing same day blood results) means that our vets have the tools to hand to fully work-up their cases and diagnose what is wrong with your pet so that they can be treated appropriately. In the event that an animal needs more in depth investigation, such as an MRI, we also have close links with a referral centre so this can be arranged where necessary.
We strongly believe in continuity of care for all animals and their owners and, wherever possible, you will be booked back in to see the same person again. This allows your pets to build a bond with the person that they are seeing and means that they are then less anxious when they come in to see us when they are unwell.
Finally, although we always try our best and hope that you never have any cause to be dissatisfied with the service that we provide, in the event that you wish to raise any concerns then this can be done directly with the practice owner, Sarah Goodsall, either in writing or by telephone – she will always respond to you personally.
